History
The Regional Competitions were initiated in 1992 by Adriaan De Bruijn, the first president of the European Senior Golf Association. He was a Dutch senior golfer, living in Luxembourg and addicted to the development of golf, mainly for the seniors.
In the statutes of the Association he wrote in 1982 : art.2 “The objective of ESGA is to promote and facilitate golf and friendly relations between its members. For this purpose, it will organize championships and tournaments and support multinational competitions of its members”
After the launch of the Senior Championship and Cup in 1982, regional tournaments were initiated from 1992 : the 6 Nations, the Alpencup, the K&K Monarchy.
