Information and Admission Criteria
Information and Admission Criteria for Candidates for Membership in the European Senior Golf Association (ESGA).
Conforming with its statutes the object of ESGA, established in 1981, is to promote and facilitate golf and friendly relations between its members. It will for this purpose organize championships and tournaments. Members are limited to National Associations of Amateur Golfers in Europe. Senior golfers are male amateur players of age 55 and above. The Senior Golfers Association must be acknowledged by their National Golf Federation as an association representing senior golf in their country. The National Golf Federation has to be a member of the European Golf Association (EGA).
The ESGA Board examines applications for membership addressed to the General Secretary and shall submit them to the General Assembly for decision.
Members pay an annual contribution, starting at 600 € per annum (level 2019) and 1 € per individual male member, with a minimum of 700 and a maximum of 1.500 € (level 2019).
Criteria for New Members
The criteria for new members basically require the capability to organize and host an ESGA Championship & Cup. Finally to have access to at least two good and mature 18 hole golf courses nearby plus an extra one to accommodate the Presidents' and Ladies' Cup as well as adequate hosting facilities.
As the ESGA language in force is English, sufficient knowledge of this language is required.
As soon as a golfing country has a National Senior Association, which wants to become a member of ESGA and which is convinced to be able to meet the ESGA criteria, an ESGA Board delegation will visit the applying National Senior Association. If the ESGA Board reaches a positive vote, a proposal to the ESGA General Assembly will follow.
Today ESGA has 24 members and we look forward to welcoming new countries to experience new cultures and to meet new friends to play golf with.
